Park Rules

  • Park is open 7 days a week, from 7 am to 9 pm.
  • Chairs and tables may be moved around the Park. Furniture should be used for its intended purpose; standing on chairs or tables are grounds for eviction from the park.
  • Vending, sales and events are prohibited without a permit.
  • You are welcome to book your special event or party of 20 or more people by contacting Westchase District at 713-780-9434.
  • Do not pick any plant material from any of the planted areas or planters.
  • Do not dump ice or any other material in the planting areas. Enjoy open areas and lawn without entering flowerbeds or planting areas.
  • Organized team sports, cycling, skating, rollerblading, skateboarding, golfing and using a scooter for recreation are not permitted in the Park.
  • Rummaging through the trash receptacles and littering is prohibited. Place all recyclables and waste in appropriate receptacles.
  • Children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the park without a parent/guardian. Parents are responsible for their child’s safety.
  • Climbing on or drinking from the misting feature is prohibited.
  • Guest Services Attendants have the authority to ask park patrons to leave the park if patrons are not compliant with the Park Rules.
  • Parking lot is for park patrons only. There is a two-hour parking limit. Improperly parked vehicles will be towed.
  • Destroying public property is prohibited by Title 19, Chapter 191 of the Government Code of Texas

  • Glass containers 
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Alcohol consumption 
  • Drug Use
  • Soliciting
  • Panhandling
  • Plastic tarps
  • Shopping carts
  • Feeding wildlife
  • Motorized Vehicles 
  • Hunting or use of firearms
  • Outside furniture
  • Tents or other structures
  • Excessive noise, amplified sound, or playing of musical instruments
  • Camping (per Ord. #2016 – 65, Sec. 32-38)
  • Open flames, grilling, or cooking
  • Driving poles, stakes, or flags into the ground
  • Attaching or affixing items to any park feature 
  • Piñatas, bounce houses, confetti, silly string, kites & drones
  • Obstructing Park entrances

WOODCHASE PARK IS A SMOKE FREE ZONE BY CITY ORDINANCE

Pop-Up Party Rules

Pop-up parties at Woodchase Park are allowed for groups of fewer than 40 people as long as they follow these guidelines:

  • Prohibited Areas: Pop-up parties are not permitted under the pavilion on Saturdays or Sundays. On these days, the space can only be used with a paid reservation.
  • Furniture: Tables and chairs cannot be held more than one hour in advance. Limit of 5 tables and 10 chairs. All furniture must be returned after use.
  • Decorations: Decorations are limited to tabletops only. Nothing can be attached to park signs, trees, plants, fences, or structures. Confetti, silly string, and glitter are not allowed.
  • Outside Setups: Bringing outside furniture or setups is prohibited. This includes banners, décor, piñatas, tents, speakers, or anything that requires electrical outlets.
  • Vendors: Vendors are not allowed without prior approval. This includes face painters, food trucks, magicians, equipment rentals, characters, petting zoos, DJs, inflatables, and carnival games.
  • Food & Beverages: You may bring your own food, but onsite cooking is not permitted. Food sales or distribution to the public are also prohibited. Glass containers are not allowed. All serving ware and decorations must be non-breakable. Alcohol is not permitted.
  • Exclusive Areas: No areas of the park may be blocked off for exclusive use. Event hosts cannot ask others to leave or prevent them from using the same area of the park.
  • General Compliance: All Park Rules must be followed. Directions from park personnel must be adhered to.

Dog Park Rules

  • The City of Houston and/or Westchase District have no liability or responsibility for injuries in the Dog Park.  A complete set of Dog Park Rules is posted at the Dog Park entrance.
  • The dog park is open 7 am to 9 pm.
  • Owners are legally and financially responsible for their dog’s behavior.
  • Limit 2 dogs per person per visit.
  • Dogs must be properly licensed & vaccinated with City of Houston registration & rabies tags displayed on each dog’s collar.
  • Dogs must be leashed while entering & leaving the Park and the transition corridor. Owners must have a visible leash for each dog at all times.
  • Owners must have visible pet waste disposal materials at all times & must pick up your dog’s fecal matter & properly dispose of it in a trash receptacle.
  • Owners must be in verbal & sight control of their dogs at all times & prevent aggressive behavior, biting, fighting, & aggressive barking. Never leave your dog(s) unattended.
  • Dogs with a known history of dangerous behavior are prohibited. Immediately leash your dog(s) & leave the dog park if your dog behaves aggressively.
  • No puppies under 4 months of age are allowed.
  • No female dogs in heat are allowed.
  • No children age 12 or younger are allowed in the dog park. Children ages 13 through 18 must be supervised by an adult & behave appropriately: No running, shouting, chasing dogs, or petting other people’s dogs without the owner’s permission.
  • No dog or people food is allowed in the dog park.
  • No smoking in the dog park.
  • Violation of City Code results in fines & no further use of the dog park.
